Director of GameLab and Professor at the université des Arts, Zürich – Game Design Section
Beat Suter has a ph.D. from the University of Zurich on the topic digital literature and interactive fiction. He works as senior lecturer for Game Design at the University of the Arts Zurich, Switzerland specializing in concepts, storytelling, mechanics and history of games – and he manages the GameLab. He worked as lecturer for the Merz Academy Stuttgart, as project manager for a communications agency, as independent scholar and curator, as publisher of books and electronic literature (edition cyberfiction) and as editor and author. He co-organizes the annual GameZfestival and the conference GameZ&RuleZ. He is founding member of the art group AND-OR that specializes in gameart and netart. The latest work DadaOverload works as a shooter and decomposes tweets and spam; it was shown in several exhibits. And recently he co-authored the two creative card sets IdeasForGames and StoriesForGames.
